OUR STORY

Growing up these two sisters had a few things in common, one in particular..a passion for hair. After leaving her first year of college at Southern University, LaFaye began her journey in beauty school in the 80’s, and took a leap of faith to move from their hometown of Mobile, AL to Atlanta. Shortly thereafter, younger sister, Jennifer (JJ) was inspired to move to her dream town of ATL as well, a place she manifested and while there, she found herself following her big sister’s footsteps.   

As they embarked on their careers, both LaFaye & JJ made a name for themselves in the hair and music scenes of ATL. For years, both sisters worked at some of the top prestigious salons in Atlanta and have been on the cutting edge of hair & fashion trends for decades.  These two sisters have had the privilege of styling the Who’s Who in Atlanta and Hip Hop Royalty. JStar Studio Salon is owned and operated by Jennifer (JJ) Morris, who has been doing hair for over 25 years.   

In 2020, amidst unprecedented times, things came full circle for Jennifer and she jumped at the opportunity to own her new salon. And sister LaFaye, has been doing hair for over 30 years.  Eager to work with her sister again, LaFaye was ready to join her.  Together, their hair care knowledge and expertise is highly respected in the local community and hair care industry. The new location for JStar Studio Salon was just what they needed to ignite their passion of serving women with exceptional hair care as well as healthy organic products.
